There are two common ways to get a playground to you: we can bring it and install it for you. Or, we can ship it for yourself or others to install.

Some customers really like the idea of having the Bears Playground Crew complete their installation. Our crews are really, really good at what they do!!! Usually we pack up the truck with our tools and your playground and hit the road. For jobs that are really far away, we sometimes ship the playground and fly the crew in.
These projects are priced on a case by case basis depending on the details of the project. Price is usually calculated based upon the size of your playground plus a calculation for mileage, hotels, etc. The Bears Playground Crew can bring the playground in a semi-built form to your site with a mini track loader (walk behind forklift) and tilting trailer. Pre-building the playground in our shop saves time on your site and helps ensure quality. It is an advantage most companies cannot offer. Clear access for the “pre-built” is important.
You also have the option to have us ship the playground to you for your own self installation. We will still build and pre-install large portions of your project completely in our shop to make sure everything is just right. Then we take it apart and load it up into a really big crate or two or three depending upon the project. Then we load it on a tractor trailer truck (usually common carrier, LTL or consolidated load) and send it on its way for installation by others. Sometimes the owner unloads, and sometimes the installer does, depending upon the arrangements you make. Building your playground in our shop prior to shipping is an extra quality control step that we take to help ensure your playground is just right. It also makes it possible for us to ship you larger assembled sections, instead of a stack of lumber and a pile of hardware (like many of our competitors do). Installation is much simpler than it may be with other brands because of this step. Shipping dimensions and weights vary by model and specific options chosen. Crates are typicality 12’ long x 4’ wide x 7’ high, weighing between 1,500 and 2,800 lbs. When we ship playgrounds, most clients will end up hand unloading the crates piece by piece in order to get it off of the truck. The agreement we have with the shipper requires them to contact you for an appointment. Your delivery address must be able to accommodate a big tractor trailer delivery truck. It is your responsibility to unload the truck. Our agreement with most of the trucking companies allows a max of two hours for this before additional charges start kicking in. As you know we pre-assemble / pre-install most of the playground for you. This saves you time and is a big benefit to you but that means some of the pieces are big and heavy. Most places we ship to do not have loading docks, forklifts or Bobcats to help unload, so it is a good idea to have some strong people on hand to open up and hand unload the crate(s). Some customers have us ship directly to the installers facility for transport to the site when they are ready. If you do rent a Bobcat, you would ideally want it to be able to handle 3,000 pounds. Keep in mind, our crates are about 12 feet long, and you would only to be able to access it at one end from the back of the truck. The 12’ length may prevent you from being able to completely lift the entire crate, so you may have to break open the crate by hand even with a Bobcat.

Our crew will manufacture and pre build almost everything from your playground in our shop. This helps ensure quality and make sure the pieces all fit together nicely. We take lots of pictures of your built playground while it is standing in our shop. It is fun to see actual pictures of your project before it arrives to you. Print outs of the pictures will be included with the detailed installation instructions. Then we take the playground apart and label the pieces as we go. Finally, we build a nice crates to ship the playground pieces to you. The cost of the crates is built into your shipping quote.

We can put it on our trailer and bring it to you for a first class, turn key installation. One thing our company values as much the quality of our unique products is reliable, first class installation. We are specialists, playground builders, masters of our trade. We travel far and wide to create the awesome nature inspired play environment for children. Of coarse installation is a separate price and is based upon the scope of the project, travel, access to the area and other site specific details. Basically, we load the semi built structure onto our tilting trailer and bring it into your backyard or commercial location. We usually travel with a Mini track loader (basically a walk behind, fork lift), tilt the trailer, slide the playground off and then install the toys. If the yard is too sensitive to drive on with our truck we can use our mini track loader (back yard fork lift). “Clear access pre-built” is our preferred method of install and is how we price our jobs. We can also take our pre built playground apart and carry back into the yard by hand for an additional charge. Please let us know in advance if this is necessary.
