Our Ponderosa Commercial Playground, built near Keuka Lake in Hammondsport, NY. One of the beautiful New York State Finger Lakes, the Keuka Lake region is rustic and natural, with a history rooted in Native American culture. Keuka Lake, known as the "crooked lake" because of its shape is unique among the Finger Lakes. Not only is it the only Y-shaped Finger Lake, it is also one of only two Finger Lakes that drains into another Finger Lake. Keuka Lake was the last Finger Lake to be discovered by early settlers because it existed in the shadow of Seneca Lake. Early travellers would have to go around Seneca Lake to head West, and as a result never saw Keuka Lake as they continued on their journey. Hammondsport is on the south end of the lake, and is home to a stunning Bears Playgrounds Ponderosa playground. To make our nature inspired playgrounds, we use natural materials, like our beautiful, whole, round Northern White Cedar logs with all their natural features. Our cedar logs have a fat end and a skinny end like a tree (instead of a manufactured dowel), they have gorgeous wood grain, checking, knots, crooks, and curves. Our bold, strong and built to last architecture beautifies children's spaces, while capturing a child’s imagination. Our nature inspired products and natural materials help stimulate a child’s enthusiasm for nature. In short, our products facilitate learning, create opportunities for exercise, help build social skills and help provide a unique connection to the great outdoors. Bears Playgrounds' signature line of cedar log playgrounds is perhaps the best looking in the Universe. They are designed to compliment the natural setting of any environment. |
